Why Pereneon Exists
The evolution of modern agriculture is well documented. Today's production systems are optimized for short-term output, not long-term performance — and nutritional decline, environmental cost, and pressure on farmers' margins are the side effects.
The alternative has been there all along. Decades of research show that the deep roots of perennial crops rebuild soil, capture carbon, improve water quality, and hold more nutrition in food.
Over the past decade we have worked across perennial agriculture — through Kernza®, sainfoin, and perennial cover-crop systems — alongside farmers, researchers, processors, brands, and distributors across the value chain.
Different as those efforts look on the surface, they led us to one conclusion: the limit to perennial agriculture is no longer proving that the crops work. It is building the systems required to commercialize them — efficiently, and at scale. That is what Pereneon builds.
